A Milano, al Santeria Toscana 31, Anna von Hausswolff ha superato le migliori aspettative durante una delle due date italiane del suo tour europeo 2026 (entrambe sold out). Dal vivo, la sua musica prende una forza nuova: l’estensione vocale e il modo in cui carica le composizioni di un istinto primordiale, quasi animale, trasformano lo show in un rituale.

Il sax è l’asse portante del live: scandisce i tempi e costruisce lo scheletro dei brani, mentre la band segue ogni movimento con precisione e senza protagonismi. Dal vivo l’artista svedese alterna momenti raccolti a vere e proprie accelerazioni che spingono lo show verso i territori del post rock, pur restando impossibile parlare di generi: tutto è fluido e in continua metamorfosi. “The Iconoclast” (tratta dal nuovo album), sul palco acquista una densità ancora maggiore, grazie a dinamiche calibrate e stratificazioni sonore. “The Mysterious Vanishing of Electra” (da “Dead Magic”) è stata accolta con un boato: la traccia sembra nata per essere suonata davanti a un pubblico: Anna passa alla chitarra e la band la segue in un’oscurità intensa e palpabile. La canzone viene dilatata al massimo, guadagnando spessore ed energia; in concerto lascia un’impronta forte.

Con “Stardust”, l’artista svedese si scioglie nella danza, ma a sorprendere è come mantenga la voce sempre spinta ma nitida. “Ugly and Vengeful” ha chiuso il set in maniera travolgente. Poi spazio ai bis: “Funeral for My Future Children” e “Struggle with the Beast”, praticamente due canzoni in una, come sognare e risvegliarsi di colpo.

At Santeria Toscana 31 in Milan, Anna von Hausswolff exceeded expectations during one of the two Italian dates of her 2026 European tour (both sold out). Live, her music gains a new intensity: her vocal range and the way she fills the compositions with a primordial, almost animal instinct turn the show into a ritual.

The saxophone is the backbone of the performance: it marks the rhythm and builds the framework of the songs, while the band follows every movement with precision and without taking the spotlight. The Swedish artist alternates quiet passages with bursts that push the show into post-rock territories, though it remains impossible to define a genre: everything is fluid and constantly evolving. “The Iconoclast” (from the new album) becomes even denser on stage, thanks to carefully calibrated dynamics and layered sounds. “The Mysterious Vanishing of Electra” (from “Dead Magic”) was met with a roar: the track seems made to be performed live. Anna switches to guitar, and the band follows her into an intense, palpable darkness. The song is stretched to the maximum, gaining depth and energy.

With “Stardust,” the Swedish artist melts into dance, yet her voice remains strong and clear. “Ugly and Vengeful” closed the set in a thrilling way. Then came the encores: “Funeral for My Future Children” and “Struggle with the Beast,” practically two songs in one, like dreaming and waking up suddenly.
