TRANS ATLANTIC J. Circus
“Circus” by Trans Atlantic J. is a sonic journey that grabs you from the start. Written in Berlin and mixed in Hamburg with Gregor Sonnenberg, the EP plays with the tension between control and chaos, and you feel it immediately in the opening track, “New Air”: a psychedelic piece with Eastern echoes that wraps around you completely in headphones. “Strong” shifts tone: rockier and magnetic, it hooks you instantly. Guitar, bass, and synth intertwine naturally, creating an almost hypnotic pull.
In “Bucket”, electronics take the lead, but never feel cold: clever touches and subtle sonic details emerge only after multiple listens, as if rewarding your attention. “Versatile” slows everything down, perfect for letting thoughts wander—we tried it at night while driving, and it works flawlessly, producing a relaxed, almost trance-like state. Then comes “Loose”, a powerful finale: strong rhythms, acidic electronics, a track that makes you say every time, “Wow, what a piece.”
All the tracks have their own character, yet together they build an experience that shakes you inside, leaving your heart a little brighter and your mind full of visions.

“Circus” di Trans Atlantic J. è un viaggio sonoro che non lascia scampo. L’EP, scritto a Berlino e mixato a Amburgo con Gregor Sonnenberg, gioca sulla tensione tra controllo e caos, e già dall’apertura con “New Air” lo percepisci: un pezzo lisergico, con echi orientali, che in cuffia ti avvolge completamente. “Strong” cambia registro: più rock, magnetico, è il brano che ti cattura subito e non ti molla. Chitarra, basso e synth si intrecciano in modo naturale, creando un fascino ipnotico difficile da ignorare.
Con “Bucket” l’elettronica prende il sopravvento, ma senza diventare fredda: ci sono intuizioni intelligenti e piccoli dettagli sonori che si scoprono solo ascolto dopo ascolto, quasi come se l’EP volesse premiarti per la pazienza. “Versatile” è un momento sospeso, perfetto per lasciar scorrere i pensieri: l’abbiamo provato di notte guidando, funziona alla perfezione, creando una specie di trance rilassata. E poi arriva “Loose”, chiusura potente: ritmiche decise, elettronica acida, un brano che ti fa dire ogni volta “Wow, che fottuto pezzo”.
Nel complesso, “Circus” è un EP che mescola krautrock, indie dance ed esperimenti elettronici senza mai perdere coerenza. Tutte le tracce hanno un carattere proprio, ma insieme costruiscono un’esperienza che ti scuote dentro, lasciandoti il cuore un po’ più acceso e la testa piena di visioni.
