Questa volta, però, facciamo volentieri un’eccezione, perché “Plans We Never Make” è davvero un pezzo carino, capace di conquistarci con un bel testo e una struttura intelligente. La parte più interessante è il modo in cui quest’ultima si apre progressivamente verso il pop, senza perdere il carattere country di partenza. Non sarà il genere che frequentiamo più spesso, ma quando arriva una proposta così riuscita è difficile non lasciarle spazio.

Country is not exactly our favourite territory, and Distopic.it readers know how rarely we venture into the genre. This time, though, we are happy to make an exception, because “Plans We Never Make” is genuinely charming, with strong lyrics and a smart structure. What works particularly well is the way the arrangement gradually opens towards pop while retaining its original country character. It may not be a style we cover often, but when a track gets this combination right, it deserves to be given some room.
